Handmade resin art is durable and made to last — but a few simple habits will keep your piece looking as clear and beautiful as the day you received it. The good news: resin needs very little maintenance.
Everyday cleaning
Wipe your piece gently with a soft, dry cloth — a microfibre cloth is ideal. For anything sticky, a slightly damp cloth works, then dry it straight away. That's all most pieces ever need.
What to avoid
- Harsh chemicals. Skip household cleaners, alcohol, acetone and abrasive sponges — they can dull or cloud the surface.
- Prolonged direct sunlight. A little daylight is fine, but resin kept in strong, direct sun for long periods can yellow over years. Display your piece in bright indirect light instead.
- High heat. Don't leave resin pieces on hot surfaces, near stoves, or in a parked car. Resin softens at high temperatures.
- Scratches. Store small pieces like keychains away from keys and coins that can scratch the surface.
Keeping coasters and trays their best
Functional pieces like coasters and trays handle daily use well. Wipe up spills promptly, avoid placing very hot mugs directly on them for long periods, and they'll stay beautiful for years.
If the surface looks dull over time
A gentle wipe usually restores the shine. Deeper scratches can sometimes be re-polished — if your piece ever needs attention, message us and we'll advise.
Storing pieces you're not displaying
Wrap in soft tissue or cloth and keep somewhere cool and dry, out of direct sun. Avoid stacking heavy items on top.
