Handmade resin art is durable and made to last — but a few simple habits will keep your piece looking as clear and beautiful as the day you received it. The good news: resin needs very little maintenance.

Everyday cleaning

Wipe your piece gently with a soft, dry cloth — a microfibre cloth is ideal. For anything sticky, a slightly damp cloth works, then dry it straight away. That's all most pieces ever need.

Light and heat are the two things to watch

Resin loves indirect light but not harsh, constant sun. Prolonged direct sunlight can, over years, warm the resin and gently shift its tone — so a bright shelf away from a hot window is perfect.

Keep pieces away from radiators, stovetops and car dashboards, where sustained heat can soften the surface.

Treat it like glass that cannot break, and it will keep its glow for years.

Cleaning a little more deeply

If a piece needs more than a dust, use a barely-damp cloth with plain water, then dry it straight away. Skip household cleaners, alcohol and solvents, which can dull the finish.

For jewellery, take resin earrings or pendants off before swimming or showering, and store them somewhere soft and dry. Small pieces like keychains are best kept away from keys and coins that can scratch the surface.

Keeping coasters and trays their best

Functional pieces like coasters and trays handle daily use well. Wipe up spills promptly, avoid placing very hot mugs directly on them for long periods, and they'll stay beautiful for years.

If it ever loses its shine

A soft cloth is usually all a piece needs to look its best again.

Years of handling can leave a piece looking a little tired. Often a gentle polish brings it back — and if it ever needs more, we are always here to refinish a piece we have made.

A well-kept resin keepsake can easily outlast the moment it was made to remember.

Quick Rule

Soft dry cloth, indirect light, no harsh chemicals. That is genuinely all most pieces ever need.

Storing pieces you're not displaying

Wrap in soft tissue or cloth and keep somewhere cool and dry, out of direct sun. Avoid stacking heavy items on top.

Made to be treasured

Cared for this simply, your resin keepsake will keep its clarity and colour for many years. If you have a question about a specific piece, message Resin Gallery by Suu on WhatsApp — we're always happy to help you look after something you treasure.
